HARRY PUSSY-IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY YOU CAN SHIT ON A PUERTO RICAN WHORE 1993

IN THE MID 90'S I PLAYED GUITAR IN A NOISE ROCK / INDY ROCK BAND.I HAD QUIT PLAYING BASEBALL 5 YEARS EARLIER WHEN I DECIDED TO TEACH MYSELF HOW TO PLAY AN INSTRUMENT,LEARN ABOUT MUSIC,START SMOKING AND START TAKING DRUGS.I GOT A JOB AT A CD STORE AND OVER THE COURSE OF TIME REACHED THE BACKEND OF PUNK ROCK WHERE HARRY PUSSY LIVES AND DWELLS.THE MOST PRIMAL LIVE BAND I EVER SAW-TWICE IN '95 AT THE MERCURY LOUNGE OPENING FOR THE DEAD C. AND LATER THAT YEAR AT THE COOLER ON 14TH STREET-THEY WERE THE RAMONES TAKEN TO THEIR MOST LOGICAL CONCLUSION,I THOUGHT.IF THEIR SIMPLE CHORD PROGRESSIONS HAD BROKEN DOWN COMPLETELY INTO A MAELSTROM AND THE DRUMMING HAD MUTATED INTO BILLY COBHAM EXCEPT WITH NO TRAINING AND UNBURDENED BY METER,THEN THIS WAS REALLY AS FAR AS ROCK N ROLL COULD GO ON THAT PARTICULAR PATH.THIS WASN'T THE OMINOUS SOUNDSCAPES OF THE DEAD C.-THAT HAD NUANCE AND CERTAIN SUBTLETIES TO IT- OR THE PRETENTIOUS METAL MACHINE MUSIC,OR THE PSYCHOTIC L.A. BLUES (TO NAME BUT A FEW IN A VAST GENRE)-THIS SHIT WAS FUN!!IT WAS ENTERTAINING!!INDEED,I FELT LIKE IF I WERE THE RAMONES IN 1991,THEN BY 1995 I HAD BECOME HARRY PUSSY....A RELATIVELY SHORT TREK ON A LONG WALK OF LISTENING....

  1. I saw them in Boston in the 90's and Adris (the drummer / singer was AMAZING. They did their cover of "Showroom Dummies, she was rocking the kit and when it came time to sing - she launched herself over the drums and hit the mic in perfect time. My jaw dropped.
