BRAINWASH 2000-BREAK IT DOWN 1996
I DUG THIS RECORD UP IN THE BRONX IN APRIL,LISTENED TO IT AND DIDN'T LIKE IT AT ALL.I PUT IT ON EBAY THE NEXT WEEK AND IT SOLD FOR $530.SO I LISTENED TO IT AGAIN.I STILL DIDN'T LIKE IT.I EQ'D IT FOR THIS POST AND LISTENED AGAIN.THIS RECORD IS NOT THAT GOOD...AT ALL.MAYBE SOMEONE CAN ENLIGHTEN ME.THERE'S 120+ PEOPLE WHO HAVE IT THEIR WANTLISTS ON DISCOGS.I REALLY DO NOT UNDERSTAND THAT.HERE IT IS NONETHELESS.NOT IN THE TOP 500-NOT EVEN CLOSE-THE ONLY THING IT'S GOING FOR IT IS IT'S ON THE LEGENDARY NY 101 MIX BY DJ PREMIER.DON'T SAY I NEVER DID ANYTHING FOR YOU.

i've never heard this before but i think it's decent. Def not top 500 and mos def not worth $530. Anyway, thanx for sharing this.
ReplyDeletetotally agree, i heard it a few times and i never understod how people can like it that much, but i most do as you did..i will give it a listen again now and maybe i have changed my opinion :P
ReplyDeletebrainwash is ill bro... i dont think any rec is worth 530. but king of demos is some irie dankness. mad rare too... thats why its all hyped.
ReplyDeleteWhen I first peeped this when it dropped, I liked the "Break It Down" track. I still like it.
ReplyDeleteIt's nothing special, but a dope little 90's indy cut.
But what always pissed me off about this record was that the B-Side was called "King Of Demos", and I thought with a name like that, it couldn't miss.
Well, IMO, I was wrong. Every time I picked up that record, got amped because the title, and threw it on, it disappointed me every time.
No offense, but "King Of Demos" is garbage from what I remember.
I'll give it yet another chance but I doubt my mind will change.
