ALL THINGS MUST PISS..

...IT SEEMS LIKE THE GOLDEN AGE OF POSTING FREE DOWNLOADS ON YR BLOG HAS COME AND GONE.I RECENTLY LOST ALOT OF NOT-BACKED UP MUSIC WHEN MY 150 GB IPOD BIT THE DUST.I'VE BEEN IN THE PROCESS OF TRYING TO RECOVER AS MUCH AS I CAN BUT MORE HALF OF MY ATTEMPTS END IN EITHER AN ANTI-PIRACY WARNING OR  A DEAD LINK.I'M ASSUMING THIS HAS TO DO WITH MEGA-UPLOAD-OR WHATEVER THEY'RE CALLED-BEING BUSTED BY THE FEDS.DID EVERYONE GET SCARED THEY WOULD GO TO JAIL?IT STILL SEEMS LIKE THERE ARE PLENTY OF RELIABLE FILE SHARING SITES,BUT ARE THEY ON THE VERGE OF BEING RAIDED BY THE FBI TOO?IS THAT IT?WHY PUT ALL THE TIME AND EFFORT INTO UPLOADING MUSIC IF IT'S ONLY GOING TO BE THERE A SHORT WHILE??IS THAT THE GENERAL CONSENSUS??I DON'T KNOW....NOW,ANYBODY WHO HAS EVER READ THIS BLOG KNOWS THAT I'VE NEVER CONSIDERED MYSELF AN MP3 PERSON-IF I CAN'T HOLD IT IN MY HANDS,WHAT DO I HAVE EXACTLY?-AND PRETTY AMBIVALENT ABOUT POSTING RECORDS ON THIS SITE.I'VE ALWAYS BEEN AN ADVOCATE OF VINYL FOR NUMEROUS REASONS.FIRST AND FOREMOST BEING THAT MUSIC SOUNDS BETTER WHEN YOU PAY FOR IT.YOU'LL CERTAINLY COVET YOUR MUSIC MORE IF YOU LAID DOWN YR HARD EARNED CASHMONEY FOR IT.OUT OF THE 25,000 FILES ON THAT IPOD I PROBABLY HAD LISTENED TO ABOUT 30%.WHY SO LITTLE?BECAUSE I NEVER PAID A NICKEL FOR ANY OF IT AND SINCE I HAD NO REAL VESTED INTEREST I JUST NEVER LISTENED...IT WAS THERE FOR ME TO DISCOVER SOME RAINY DAY...AND THAT NEVER HAPPENED..OF COURSE THERE ARE EXCEPTIONS (BERNARD FEVRE COMES TO MIND) AND OF COURSE THERE IS AN UPSIDE TO DIGITAL FILES AND FREE DOWNLOADING. ESPECIALLY WHEN THE MUSIC ONE IS LOOKING FOR IS HARD TO FIND AND EXPENSIVE.BUT ON THE WHOLE PRETTY MUCH ANYTHING YOU COULD EVER THINK OF WAS FOR SALE SOMEWHERE ON THE INTERNET..OR AT AN ACTUAL RECORD STORE.....I'M RAMBLING ON HERE AND REPEATING MYSELF AT THE SAME TIME...WHAT I WANTED TO SAY IS THAT I HAVE NO PLANS TO PULL THE PLUG ON THIS SPACE JUST YET.IT MAY BE PULLED FOR ME BUT I'M STILL PRETTY INTENT ON BRINGING BACK ALL THE DEAD LINKS AND MOVING FORWARD WITH MEDIASHARE.I WOULD'VE POSTED NEW RECORDS BY NOW BUT MY PC IS STILL BROKEN.KEEP THE FAITH EVERYBODY...

  1. If ya need any help, let me know. Unfortunately I hate to be the bearer of bad news but recently mediafire has also been just deleting peoples' accounts with no warning. I've had my account for years and have plenty of stuff that would get me shut down but for now I'm still there. I just don't name my rar's that i upload by their obvious easy to google titles. It can get confusing when you don't label shit correct but if you figure yourself out a quick easy little system, it can work. I dunno, im rambling now myself and i by no means have many more answers than anyone else.

I believe what you said about filesharers being scared but i don't think any more are being targeted in the near future. But like i said, I don't have any insider info so i wouldn't put my word on any of this.

  2. What verge said - IF you use mediafire, do NOT name your files by title, make up crazy randomness. More advice: No matter what fileserver you use, put your links in comments, not the post body, and use a symbol or nonsense word for the hyperlink itself.

Ome more tip - check out zippyshare. Excellent host, like mediafire used to be.

  4. HS, I had a similar problem with my Mediafire, no warniong, just certain link is would be pulled, no warning. I always felt that my MF files and folders would be secure, but no.

The safest way its seems IS to name the zips and folders with initials and different variations on the file name.

It seems to work, and more folk are popping the links into comment spaces too. There's always a way around it.

Keep that faith Mr Pussy, and thanks again for all the great music, at such good quality
